Hazard Insurance Covers Property Damage
Homeowners insurance combines hazard insurance and lia- bility insurance. Hazard insurance covers property damage caused by fire wind storms and other similar events. Coverage for earthquakes and floods may or may not be included with hazard insurance and you should check with your insurance carrier to determine if this is included in your policy. Liability insurance coverage protects you against claims alleging negligence or inappropriate action resulting in bodily injury or property damage.
